Doggone mess along Crom Street

A couple of weeks ago, concerned residents in the Crom Street area made sure that children walk to school safely. They lobbied the city into creating a three-way stop at the corner of Foxfire and Crom Street, citing concerns about speeding cars zooming right past children walking to and from Stella Brockman Elementary School.

Candidates are all over city map

If Mike Morowit is elected he will be the first Manteca City Council member from north of Lathrop Road as he resides in Union Ranch. Council hopeful Richard Silverman lives near Woodward Park as does incumbent Vince Hernandez. Cantu resides near Sierra High while Councilman Steve DeBrum — who is running for mayor — lives in east Manteca on the edge of the city limits in almond country.
