Weekend offers four car shows

If you’re a car enthusiast this is your weekend.
There are four car shows including three on Sunday that includes the grand-daddy of all San Joaquin County car shows — the Pete Paulsen Hot Rod Party in French Camp.
The other Sunday car shows are the Pumpkin Fair Car Show in the 100-200 blocks of East Yosemite in downtown Manteca that is a half block from the John Cambra Ag/Mechanics Scholarship Fund Car and Motorcycle Show at the MRPS Hall, 133 N. Grant St.
The Pumpkin Fair car show is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. that’s limited to 100 vehicles. It has a $25 registration fee. For details call 1-800-592-7419 option 4 or visit sunrisekiwanis.org.
The MRPS car show is from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. with pre-registration $20 and day of show registration $25 that starts at 8 a.m. There are doughnuts and coffee for registrants. Beer will be sold after 10 a.m. There also will be a BBQ lunch, raffle, and silent auction. For more information, go to www.jcamsfcarshow.homestead.com.
Both car shows are free.
One of the region’s biggest car shows — Pete Paulsen’s 28th annual Hot Rod party — takes place Sunday at the Paulsen Ranch in French Camp from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. General admission is $6 while kids 10 and under are free.
Appearing are Candy Clark, Mackenzie Phillips, Johnny “T” & Wolfie as well as the Port City Roller Girls. There will be vendors, tri-tip BBQ, a giant raffle, other food and a live auction at 2 p.m.  Early entry for vehicles is $30 while day of the event registration is $40. On Saturday, the 27th annual Ripon Police-Menlo Police Emergency vehicle Car Show takes place from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Ripon Community Park, 412 West Fourth St., in Ripon. Admission is free to the event featuring police cars, SWAT vehicles, ambulances, hearses, military vehicles, and fire trucks.
