Day 140

Driving home from work and my thermometer says 107 degrees. I instantly start to think that if it says 107 on my car thermometer then the gym must be at least that hot! Nevertheless I get home and am debating whether or not I should go and workout. I tell myself that it is Monday and that I need to workout, but the other voice inside my head is saying that it is way too hot and that I don’t handle the heat well. I decide not to go and just as I make that final decision my son walks through the door. He had gone and worked out.  I take one look at him and know that I made the correct decision even before he says, “Mom, don’t go and workout.” I waited until the sun went down and I took a walk downtown with my husband … worked up a sweat still in the heat, but nothing like what would have happened at the gym.

Day 141

I am a stress and boredom eater. I know I am, yet I can’t seem to break that cycle. I tried chewing gum and drinking tons of water, but I always come back to the food. I didn’t get a workout in today or a walk.  Tomorrow is a new day; seems to be my saying when I screw up!

Day 142

Ugh. Went to lunch at a Japanese restaurant with some coworkers today. I ate very well, but boy did it suck the life right out of me! After work I came home and took a three-hour nap as I was not feeling well. Not sure if it was the food or just that I’m coming down with the flu, but hoping it’s gone by morning.

Day 143

Flu or food poisoning – either way it stinks! This is one way to lose weight!

Day 144

Feeling better, but still a little dicey eating! I am also tired and so ready for a break from work. I’m still finding it challenging to find time to work out. Some have been telling me to go to the morning workouts, but they are at 5 a.m. That wouldn’t be so bad if I wasn’t a night owl and like to get every minute of sleep in the morning.

Day 145

Have you ever had one of those days where you just eat and eat and eat and nothing satisfies you? That was me today. I tried to stay on course and kept eating more of what I am supposed to eat, but the cravings were strong today.

Day 146

Well, here I am on a Sunday night wondering where the week has gone and what I have accomplished. Not pleased with my eating or working out this past week at all. It’s amazing how you can want something so bad, but have a hard time committing to it day in and day out.
