LATHROP – All that the 25-year-old man remembered was talking on his cell phone as he went up to the coin dispenser at the Wash Pro Car Wash on Harlan Road.

Everything went black after that.

According to a report issued by Lathrop Police Services, the man was knocked unconscious by an unknown suspect shortly after 4:30 p.m. on Monday. His $700 Samsung Galaxy S4 cell phone was stolen, and he ended up with a fractured jaw, a concussion and bruising to his arms and his rib area.

Whether a weapon was involved is not known by the police. Neither is the number of assailants. The man was also unable to get a description.

Anybody that may have been in the area or has any information is urged to contact the San Joaquin County Sherriff’s Department at 209.468.4400.
