TURLOCK — Ripon pole vaulter Joshua Veltkamp jumped 13 feet Thursday to finish second in the Sac-Joaquin Division V track and field finals and tied for fourth overall at Stanislaus State.

Veltkamp was the only Indians athlete who placed in the top five in the combined finish with Division IV and as a result will advance the two-day SJS Masters championships next Thursday and Friday at Elk Grove High.

Finishing in the top five in Division V scored points for the Indians. Anthony Latno tied for fourth in the pole vault (11-6) and Roland Davis was fourth in the 110-meter hurdles (15.83 seconds).

Kayla Jacklich (800, 2:30.68) and Amanda Evans (200, 26.51) finished fourth. Chris Cook (shot, 41-8) and Amanda Evans (200, 26.51) were fifth, Evans (100, 12.99) and Sandra Castillo (3200, 12:39.90) were seventh and Veltkamp was eight in the long jump (19-10 ½).

The results for the boys 3,200 and the boys and girls 4x400 relays were not available at press time.
