TURLOCK – Ripon took the consolation championship of the Godinez Tournament on Saturday with a 67-57 win over Franklin of Stockton.

The Indians (3-3) were in solid control until the closing minutes when the Yellowjackets cut a 20-point deficit in half, but Franklin could not close the gap.

Troy Brogan led Ripon with 21 points followed closely by Vincent Olmo with 20. All-tournament selection Kyle Sisk added nine points.

The Cougars outscored the Lancers (2-4) 23-7 in the third quarter.

“Turnovers were a big problem,” East Union coach Ryan Tarr said. “We just kept giving them extra possessions.”

Blake Greenlee led the Lancers with 11 points followed by Jay Gakhal with nine and Jojo Espinosa with five.
