Six participants of the East Union High girls’ varsity track and field team did plenty of damage in capturing the Modesto Junior College Invitational on Saturday.

Leading the way were co-Athletes of the Meet Jadyn Snaer and Kelly Higginson.

Snaer took first place in the 100-, 200- and 4-by-100- meter relays. She and Higginson were part of the second-place 4-by-400 team.

Higginson was a winner in the 800, mile and two-mile events for the first-place Lancers.

Blake Greenlee was Field Athlete of the Meet.

He took first place in high jump and third in both long jump and triple jump.

The East Union frosh-soph boys also took first place in the 18-team field.

Delta College Invitational

Manteca High took seven girls to the 42-team meet in Stockton.

Leading the way was Julia Moreno for the frosh-soph girls. She was part of the first-place 4-by-100 relay team – the group of Moreno, Olga Perez, Abigail Arias and Kaley Miller clocked 52.08 seconds – and captured the 400 (1 minute, 04.06 seconds).

Miller also placed second in the 100 (13.25) and Perez was third in the 400 (1:06.43).

In addition, Ana Maria Medina was second in the shot put (29 feet, 11.5 inches), Jayda Jackson was third in the high jump (5-0), and Heather Pang placed third in the pole vault (7-6).
