The Manteca Jaguars are stacked.

“We pretty much have 30-plus at every level,” Jaguars president Rob Moral said. “And most of our players are returners so that is great.

“Returners are what we want. We want the kids to come back so we can build a program around them.”

Moral is looking beyond what the players can do in the Cen-Cal league.

“Our job is to get these players ready for high school,” Moral said. “I feel we are making gains toward that.

“Our goal is to make all these kids contributors”

All levels were competitive last season.

“Two of our three upper-level squads made the playoffs,” Moral said. Our pee-wees and our varsity made it but got knocked out in the first round and our junior varsity missed it by a game.

“All of our teams were in the running. We had one of the best rookie teams we have ever had and most of them returned this season. The rookies are our foundation.”

Saturday, Aug. 23 the Jaguars go to Modesto Christian for a jamboree and on Saturday, Aug. 30 the Jaguars travel to Livingston to face the Wolves in the season-opener.
