Alijah Cota, Jr. T’wolves trample Bucs

Alijah Cota led the Manteca Jr. Timberwolves junior varsity to a 26-14 Northern California Youth Football and Cheer win over the Tracy Buccaneers on Saturday.
Cota had 19 carries for 173 yards with touchdown runs of 7, 10 and 19 yards. Keanu Duenas added 110 yards on 12 carries with a 55-yard touchdown scamper. Winston Snyder was 3 for 3 passing for 26 yards.
Paul Gaines led the Manteca defense with six tackles and an interception. Duenas added five stops, Jose Jimenez four and Cota, Tommy Perea, Jayden Ceja and Richard Torrez had three stops apiece.

Galt 14, Cowboys 13
Ace Avelar had a hand in both Cowboys touchdowns.
Avelar had a 30-yard touchdown catch on a pass from Joel Lopez (4 of 6 passing, 50 yards) and threw an 80-yard touchdown pass to Marcus Callahan (100 yards receiving).
Angel Ramirez had 42 yards rushing and was one of the standouts on defense with 11 tackles and a forced fumble recovered by Mariah Gill.
Rafael Espinosa added seven tackles, Marcus Callahan and Isaiah Houston had five each and
DylanLee, Nick Luna, Brandon Pine and Avelar had three apiece.

Rookies
Cowboys 28, Galt 0
The Cowboys spread the scoring around to remain undefeated through five games with their fourth shutout.
Gabriel Flores Jr. (six carries, 69 yards) scored on a 28-yard run; Bryson Davis (six carries, 66 yards) had a 45-yard scoring run; Jeremy A’pe (four carries, 44 yards) scored on a 5-yard run and Robbie Espinosa (five carries, 63 yards) had a 15-yard touchdown run. Nathen Cedolini added four carries on 16 yards.
Bryson Davis had six tackles for Manteca. Brandyn Sena (fumble recovery) and Blake Mount added five stops each and Omar Diaz (interception), Christopher Gallego and Shane Lewis made four tackles apiece.

Bucs 32, Jr. T’wolves 0
Julian Moncada ran for 59 yards on 7 carries for the Jr. Timberwolves.
Luis Rosas added 22 yards on eight carries and Preston Smith was 3 for 3 passing for 21 yards.
Jeremy Douglas and Eric Vaquera had four tackles each and Jadon Taylor made three tackles.

Albert Menchaca led the Jr. Timberwolves with 80 yards rushing and a touchdown.
Maddox Morales added 35 yards on the ground.  Daryl Carpenter completed a 10-yard pass to Mateo Nunez for a touchdown in the final minute of the game.  The two-point conversion for the win came up short for the Manteca.
Joseph Aucello led the Jr. Timberwolves defense with five tackles while Gilbert Luiz (forced fumble) and William Ellis added four stops each.
