Less water flow means less electricity

Editor, Manteca Bulletin,

I’m all in favor of electric cars and on demand water heaters if they are cost lowering improvements that preserve water and energy.  I just want to make sure we all keep in mind that gravity water flow produces electricity. So less water means less energy.

Most single faucet on demand water heaters are electric — so while you heat water you are draining a reservoir, at least in part. How the various energy sources play into this, I wish I knew for our area. I don’t want to jump one way just to find I’m adding big to a related problem.
