Editor, Manteca Bulletin,
I read with both interest and dismay at the letter in The Bulletin on Thursday (Aug. 24) by Karen Pearsall.
I totally agree with her views on eminent domain.  I, personally, feel eminent domain is an absolute abhorrence.  Karen did a great job explaining her position against eminent domain, so there is no need for me to repeat it all.  I know if I were in the position the Hayes family is in right now I also would be fighting tooth and nail.  It is an expensive proposition to fight city hall and big developers — but people should not be put in such a position.  Families have a right to keep or to sell their homes or properties if and when they choose to do so; they should not be forced to give up their dreams for the “greater good.”
