In the mood to sip Santa’s Irish coffee or a Christmas peppermint cookie drink while browsing crafts, clothing and other vendors while browsing for gifts?

Maybe enjoying a classic Christmas movie showing outdoors while bundled against the slight evening chill is more your forte. Or you might want to turn your kids loose on a snow hill for some fun without having to travel two hours to do so.

That and more are part of the Manteca Chamber of Commerce’s Christmas in the Park being staged in conjunction with the Manteca Parks and Recreation Department this Friday and Saturday, Dec. 1-2, at Library Park in downtown Manteca.

The two-day event includes a dozen food vendors giving you a good excuse not to cook while partaking in holiday cheer. There are also more than two dozen craft and merchandise booths.

The event is Friday from 5 to 10 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Food vendors include, Lockeford Sausage, Meva’s Tacos, The Ice Cream Company, Rita’s Italian Ice, Kettle Korn, Corn Dogs, Baked Potatoes, Sea Food, Funnel Cakes, Rock Oven Pizza, Rosa’s Bakery, Black Dragon Beverage Company and Ghirardelli Chocolate.  There will also be a Christmas Cheer Garden featuring specialty beer and wine and Holiday Rum Nog, Santa’s Irish coffee and Christmas peppermint cookie drinks.

Craft vendors include Christmas signs, home décor, doll cloths, doll houses and closets, light up wine bottles, t-shirts, Christmas décor, NFL signs, handmade sterling jewelry, crochet blankets, scarves and hats, ornaments and more.

Other vendors include free face painting, cosmetics, essential oils, jewelry, massage, clothing, LipSense, purses, organizers, candles, and Tupperware.

Information booths will be offering crafts and giveaways for the kids.

A free outdoor screening of the Christmas class movie “A Christmas Story” takes place Friday at 7 p.m. Those attending are urged to prepare for cool, crisp holiday evening air.

On Saturday a snow hill will be in place throughout the day and evening where youth for $5 can take multiple trips down hill on saucers and such that the chamber will provide.

There will also be “reindeer” rides, Disney characters walking around, as well as Christmas caroling.

Both days will also have decorated Christmas trees entered by families, non-profits, and commercial endeavors.

For more information call the chamber at 823.6121.
