Ripon board recognizing $20K scholarship student

Kayla Jacklich is a 2018 Coca-Cola Scholar.

The Ripon High senior was one of 150 nationwide to recently receive the $20,000 college scholarship, in turn, joining a family of alumni who have made a change in their community.

She along with the entire 30th class of Coca-Cola Scholars will be recognized later in the spring.

Ripon Unified school board is scheduled to honor Jacklich at tonight’s monthly meeting in the Council Chambers, 259 N. Wilma Ave.

She’s also the recipient of both the Caldwell Flores Winters Scholarship and the San Joaquin County Office of Education’s “Every Student Succeeding” Award.

The open session begins at 7 p.m.

uCT Brayton & Sons will provide a site work update on the Colony Oak Elementary School reconstruction project.

uPrincipal Gregg Elliott along with Mayra Gomez, Michelle Bergquist and Kevin Smith will speak on behalf of the latest at Ripona Elementary School.

uSuperintendent Ziggy Robeson will speak on the Measure G Citizens’ Oversight Committee, in particular, recommending the reappointment of Richard ‘Dick’ Durham on the Senior Citizen slot.
