Colony Oak utility work is completed

The underground utilities for Phase 1 of the Colony Oak Elementary School Reconstruction Project have been completed.

That’s part of the update being planned by CT Brayton & Sons, Inc.

At tonight’s Ripon Unified school board meeting, Katie Anderson, who is the Project Manager for the Escalon-based contractors, is scheduled to speak on the voter-approved Measure G modernization project consisting of the site work taking place at the RUSD kindergarten- through- eighth- grade school campus during the 7 p.m. open session in the Council Chambers, 259 N. Wilma Ave.

The campus is beginning to take shape as walls for some of the classrooms have also been completed as pre-framing of the other buildings continue, according to the report.

In other agenda items:

uSuperintendent Sigrid ‘Ziggy’ Robeson will recognize Ripon High teachers Paul Caulkin and Rod Wright. Caulkin is receiving a Crystal Apple Award from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints while Wright is the California State Athletic Directors Association Sac-Joaquin Section recipient of the Norm MacKenzie Award.

uRobeson will also honor Melinda Kopp, head librarian of the Ripon Memorial Library, for providing Excellence Support and Partnering with RUSD Library Clerks.

uKhush Gheyara of Caldwell Flores Winters, Inc. will provide a Measure G Program update.
