Gabe Ramirez made two interceptions and scored a touchdown for Manteca in a 36-0 win over East Union on Friday in the Valley Oak League sophomore finale at Guss Schmiedt Field. 

Ramirez had a 6-yard touchdown run to go with his two interceptions and three tackles. Dom Rea tallied 116 yards on 15 carries with scoring runs of 5, 6 and 12 yards and Evans Nicolas started the night’s scoring with a 1-yard touchdown run. Ryan Ward directed the Buffaloes offense, completing seven of 15 passes for 131 yards.

Nicolas made seven tackles and Garren Genilla made five with Jarrod Murphy recovering an onside kick for Manteca. 

 

Trans-Valley League

Ripon 28, Hilmar 21

The Indians scored a fourth-quarter touchdown while holding the Yellowjackets scoreless in the final period to get the win. 

Danny Hernandez picked up 143 yards on 12 carries for Ripon while Nico Ilardi ran the ball five times for 83 yards with one touchdown. Brandon Ranier and Grant Wiebe also had a rushing touchdown apiece for the Indians.  

Boogie Barnett recovered a fumble for the Indians. 

 

Southern League

Ripon Christian 31, Delhi 7

DELHI – Ian Vrieling caught two touchdowns and ran for one for the Knights. 

Vrieling had five receptions for 100 yards and Jacob Van Groningen was 7 of 15 for 132 yards with two touchdowns. Declan Van Vuren added a rushing touchdown. 

Danton Indelicato made nine tackles for Ripon Christian followed by Jadon Booth with eight and 

Hunter Greenwood (two fumble recoveries) with five. Drake Nelson made an interception. 

 

Freshman

Manteca 22, East Union 0

The Buffaloes defense came up big when it needed to Thursday night at Dino Cunial Field.

With Manteca leading 8-0 in the second quarter, the Lancers were threatening to tie the game but the Buffaloes stopped East Union deep in Manteca territory. Krys Charles (seven carries, 156 yards) then turned the tables with a 95-yard touchdown run and the Lancer were not able to recover. Aiden Nicolas (15 carries, 106 yards) added scoring runs of 3 and 5 yards for the Buffaloes.  

Calvin Ramsey led the Manteca defense with six tackles followed by David Vega and Richie Garcia with four apiece.
