TRACY – Now may be the time to look into the 2012 Altima.

And for good reason: The 20th anniversary package is currently available at Tracy Nissan, 3195 Naglee Road.

With that comes rear spoiler and fog lights; 16-inch aluminum-alloy wheels; steering-wheel-mounted audio controls; leather-wrapped steering wheel; automatic on / off headlights; passenger-side automatic up / down front windows with auto reverse; Bluetooth hands-free phone system; and auto-dimming inside rearview mirror with compass.

Add the Home link universal “transceiver,” which happens to be the rearview mirror-integrated controls intended for no more fumbling for remotes used for garage doors, home security systems, and home lighting systems.

All told, this special adds up to about $900 in savings.

The Altima, meanwhile, is powered by a 2.5-liter dual overhead cam 16-valve four-cylinder engine with a sequential multi-point fuel injection system.

In terms of fuel efficiency, this Nissan four-door sedan gets an estimated 23 miles per gallon city – expected range is 19 to 27 mpg for most drivers – and 32 mpg highway (expected range is 26 to 36 mpg).

The 2012 model also has independent front suspension, independent multi-link rear suspension, and power-assisted front and rear disc brakes.

As for safety features, the Altima comes with the Nissan Advanced airbags; driver and front passenger side-impact supplemental airbags; front-mounted curtain side-impact supplemental airbags; front-seat active head restraints; and anti-lock brakes, to name a few.

In addition, the sedan has an AM/FM/CD/auxiliary audio system with six speakers, a trip computer with outside temperature gauge, Nissan Intelligent key with push button ignition, and tilt and telescopic steering column.
