Following on the heels of the successful Nissan 350Z that captivated motorists with its unique body style and rocket-like performance, the company raised the bar once again when trying to figure how to make something that already perfect that much better and the name it the 370Z.
And they found a way to do it.
“One of the things about this car that is different than what was in the 350Z is the fact it’s a little bit shorter, but it’s also a little bit wider as well – changes that when combined with additional stability bars underneath the shell enable the 370Z to literally snake through the turns,” Tracy Nissan Sales Associate Tom King said. “They also increased the horsepower from 306 to 322 this year, and that definitely makes a difference.”
The shiny new model arrived at Tracy Nissan just two weeks ago and now graces the same showroom floor as the 2009 Motor Trend Car of the Year – the Nissan GT-R.
While both are separate animals, they both were built with speed in mind and crafted to help give the person the wheel the ultimate control as the sleek, bullet-like models glides down the empty road.
If you’re in the 370Z, you’ll have the luxury of shifting gears with the world’s first rev-matching manual transmission – made with SynchroRev Match technology that works to help set the engine at the correct RPM level for an optimal shift to take place.
And if manual shifting isn’t your forte, the 370Z offers a 7-speed automatic that gives the driver a wide spread of gearing for pinned-to-your-seat acceleration while at the same time being able to preserve gas mileage and enable it to perform during high-speed cruising over long distances. Available driver-selectable modes gives the person behind the wheel the freedom to choose how they’re going to drive – whether it will be in traditional automatic fashion, or if they need to make up speed or hold it going up a hill the easy switch to manual enables the driver to switch between gears with either the shift lever or the paddle shifters.
“It’s definitely the car that has been drawing the most customer attention since it arrived on the lot,” King said. “It’s a beautiful car with a tradition that goes back 40 years, and it’s still something that’s hot on the market today.”
