The 2012 Rio five-door crossover just arrived at Kia Country. With it comes the promise of great fuel efficiency, performance, and comfort.

The all-new 2012 Rio just arrived on the lot of Manteca’s Kia Country, 1515 N. Main St.

Powered by a 1.6-liter 138-horsepower Gasoline Direct Injection engine, the five-door crossover delivers on performance and fuel efficiency.

Try 30 miles per gallon city, 40 mpg highway for the latter. Compare that to the 2012 Ford Fiesta hatchback (29 mpg city / 38 mpg highway), the 2012 Honda Fit (27 mpg city, 33 mpg highway), or the 2012 Chevrolet Sonic (25 mpg city, 35 mpg country).

Performance-wise, the Rio boasts outstanding acceleration and crisp shifting given the optional six-speed automatic transmission with an Active Eco System that adjusts the engine and transmission to optimize fuel efficiency.

Inside, the Rio is spacious and versatile for added comfort. The seating configuration, for example, allows for more cargo area or, in some cases, leg room. The SX model features leather seat trim along with a leather-wrapped steering wheel and gearshift knob.

This Kia also comes available with advanced technology. The audio entertainment features include AM/FM/CD/MP3 system with satellite radio, Bluetooth technology, and USB and auxiliary input jacks.

In addition, the Rio offers multi-adjustable front seats and tilt steering wheel column equipped with mounted audio controls.

For precision handling, the Rio’s MacPherson-strut front-suspension system provides a smooth and comfortable ride, with 17-inch alloy wheels on the SX models.

And when it comes to preparing for the unexpected, Rio’s five-door active safety system is engineered to avoid or minimize mishaps on the road thanks to the dual front airbags, front-seat-mounted side airbags, and side curtain airbags for both the front and rear seating positions.

The front seat-belt pretensioners are designed to tighten in the event of a collision.
