Six new and expanding companies that are classified as “industrial” such as logistic providers and manufacturers will be honored at the Greater Stockton Chamber of Commerce 45th Annual Industrial & Technology Barbeque on Wednesday, Sept 16, at 5:30 p.m. at the Stockton Hilton.
Delicato Family Vineyards (DVF) will be receiving a special “green” award from Pacific Gas & Electric Company, one of the founding sponsors. This award is a new element for this annual event.
Also new this year is the venue. The event has traditionally been held at Micke Grove Park and last year was at the Lexington Hotel in downtown Stockton. This year it will be at the Stockton Hilton, in midtown, with an expanded menu and wine tasting hosted by one of the honorees.
Four hundred business and community people are expected to attend. A brief program describing the companies begins at 7:30 p.m.
The Chamber annually honors those industrial companies that meet or exceed two of the following criteria: 20 new jobs to San Joaquin County, 20,000 square feet of new or expanded space or $1 million in capital investment.
Founding sponsors are: San Joaquin Partnership which assisted all the companies in their expansions and locations, Pacific Gas & Electric, San Joaquin County Economic Development Association and Stockton Chamber of Commerce.
“These locations and expansions illustrate the diversity of business within San Joaquin County. Collectively, they represent nearly 200 new jobs and more than 300 retained jobs, nearly two million square feet and approximately $164 million in capital investment in this county,” says Michael E. Locke, Partnership President & CEO.
New companies to be honored are: Crate and Barrel, which has just received a LEED Gold designation - the first industrial building in San Joaquin County to receive this designation, and Wire Mesh Corporation. Expanded companies to be honored are: Advanced H20, JM Eagle, Trinchero Family Estates and Yara North America.
