TRACY – Terry Livings has two families.

No. 1 on his list is the one involving his wife of over 11 years, Heidi, and their two daughters. Together, they’re involved in various activities, including gardening and fishing.

His other family is the staff at Tracy Chrysler Jeep Dodge Hyundai. Terry Livings has worked for the family of the dealership for about seven years.

A graduate of Lincoln High in Stockton, he’s been the general sales manager at the Tracy auto group located at 3460 Naglee Road for the better part of three weeks.

His family there includes a sales staff of 18.

“Where I work is family-owned and -operated, and it’s also a friendly place to buy a car,” said Livings, who was born and raised in Stockton.

Among the top-selling sedans on his lot is the 2011 Hyundai Elantra.

“The Hyundai market has been amazing,” he said on Tuesday.

Take the Elantra, for example.

The GLS PZEV model runs on a 1.8-liter inline four-cylinder engine with automatic transmission and capable of getting a fuel-efficient 29 mpg city and 40 mpg highway.

This four-door sedan is also handsomely priced at about $17,930 and comes equipped with iPod input, Satellite radio, side / curtain airbags, stability control, and traction control.

In addition, the Elantra was fully redesigned for 2011, thus, making for an attractive exterior look. Couple that with a comfortable cabin, large trunk space and long warranty coverage.

The Elantra makes for one of the best deals for its money, according to www.edmunds.com.

“What I enjoy most about my job is making people happy,” said Livings. “We have those who come here thinking they can’t buy a car.

“They’re happy when we’re able to help them get that new car, which is often their second biggest, if not, biggest purchase of their lives.”

Meanwhile, Livings still calls Stockton his home. He left there to go to the Army in 1999 and also spent a few years of his childhood in the Fresno County town of Kingsburg.

“When I’m home (in Stockton), I’m usually fishing or gardening,” he said. “And if I’m not there, I’m at work.”
