That’s what the 2012 Kia Forte has to offer. Couple that with it being among the top-selling affordable small cars, according to U.S. News’ Best Cars ranking.

Those at Kia Country, 1515 N. Main St., Manteca, were quick to point out that the Forte compares favorably to the Honda Civic.

This Kia, however, is available in sedan, coupe and hatchback, and with traction control and six-speed automatic transmission part of the standard features.

The Forte EX model comes with 15-inch steel wheels with wheel covers and front and rear disc brakes and is currently displayed in the showroom of the Manteca dealership.

The Forte is powered by a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder DOHC Continuous Variable Value Timing engine, providing a fuel efficiency rating of 26 miles per gallon, city – try 21 to 31 mpg as the expected range based on most drivers’ habits – and 36 mpg (49 to 42 mpg range), highway.

When it comes to safety, the Kia Forte has front dual airbags, front seat-mounted airbags, three-point seat belts for all positions, and front active head rest, for starters.

The Forte is also available with the remote keyless, AM/FM/CD/MP3 audio system with six speeds, satellite radio, multi-adjustable driver’s seat, 60-40 split foldout rear seats, cruise control, and a trip computer,
