Manteca businesses can find out about $37,400 hiring tax credits on Tuesday

The business community can find out if they can qualify for tax credits of up to $37,400 per qualified employee they hire during a Manteca Business Summit being conducted Tuesday, March 19, from 8 to 10 a.m. at the Civic Center council chambers, 1001 W. Center St.

The City of Manteca, in cooperation with the Manteca Chamber of Commerce, is hosting the meeting of some of Manteca’s largest employers. The purpose is to provide the latest information about the California Enterprise Zone Program, and the many financial benefits available to employers in the community.

At the meeting, professional staff will be on hand to provide comprehensive information about the Enterprise Zone Program and respond to specific questions. The meeting will also address other programs and services available to employers in Manteca, including information about permits, licenses and employee recruitment assistance. At the end of the presentation, there will be a question-and-answer session between city officials and the business community.

Among the advantages the enterprise zone designation given to much of Manteca by the state.

•It reduces or eliminates State Income Tax through Enterprise Zone Tax Credits

•It offers Tax Credits of over $37,400 per qualified employee and Sales and Use Tax Credits on many equipment purchases
