A newly established dental office in Manteca is dealing specifically with root canals.

Dr. Ghazala Khan opened her doors adjacent to the U.S. Bank on Sun Haven Place earlier in the year as her primary location while making her home in the Livermore area with her husband and two daughters 13 and 7.

The office is located directly across the street from the Department of Motor Vehicles on Davis Strret making use of the bank’s parking lot in front of their door.

Dr. Khan received her dental degree in 2003 from the University of California, San Francisco Department of Ora and Maxillofacial Surgery.  During that time she practiced all aspects of dental surgery on adult as well as children patients both in an operating room and in clinical settings.  During her residency she also provided dental care to special needs and severely medically compromised patients.

She was granted a full time faculty position in 2005 in the GPR/Hospital Dentistry program at University of California at San Francisco.  She held that position as the Associated Director of the GPR Program and that of Assistant clinical professor.  Her duties included didactic and clinical training of GPR residents as well as carrying out patient care within the hospital dentistry clinic.

Two years later she returned to dental school to pursue her post graduate training in the field of Endodontics at UCSF which she completed in three more years by 2010.  Dr. Khan has been in private practice ever since, having associated herself with dental offices in the Central Valley, East and South Bay.

She is an active member of the American Association of Endodontists, the Northern California Academy of Endodontics, the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association and the San Joaquin County Dental Society.

Among her hobbies and passions is reading , cooking and volunteering at her children’s schools along with spending time with family and friends.  Dr. Khan is a dedicated yoga student and practices it regularly.

She is quick to note that she is dedicated to providing the highest quality of patient care while using state of the art equipment and evidence-based treatment.  She believes in strong communications and teamwork with her patients’ general dentists to ensure optimal patient care with positive treatment outcome.
