The Jeep Wrangler Rubicon has been around for a decade.

The 10th anniversary model still has the same drivetrain from that of the previous year. Yet there are plenty of other changes for this always popular four-wheel drive vehicle.

For starters, the one at Cabral Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram at 1145 W. Yosemite Ave., Manteca, featured in a Commando green exterior comes with seven-slot grille and throw-back 16-inch styled wheels reminiscent on the earlier models.

Under the hood is the same 3.6-liter V6 engine (285 horsepower, 260 lb-ft torque) found in the new Chargers and Challengers.

The Rubicon with five-speed automatic transmission gets an estimated 18 miles per gallon, including 16 mpg city and 20 mpg highway based on one’s driving habits.

Jeep upgraded sound system on the Rubicon with a premium Alpine with seven speakers capable of boosting 368 watts and hooked up to a 6.5-inch touchscreen media center with CD/DVD/MP3 and navigation system.

The Rubicon come with an upgraded instrument panel and center console has LED courtesy lights.

All Wrangler models have improved seat comfort and material. Heated front seats are also available.

The premium tire pressure monitoring system gives individual on-screen readouts.

In addition, the Rubicon has hill descent control, 4.10 rear axle ratio, trailer tow with four-pin connector wiring, and a Class II receiver hitch.

The latter features will suit any four-wheel enthusiast, according to internet sales manager Grant Cabral.

“This is the best off-road vehicle for the money,” he said.

The Rubicon, Grant Cabral points out, was named best 4x4 of the Decade (Four Wheeler Magazine) while earning best-in-class recognition in maneuverability and  can-do effort.

“This Jeep holds the most trade-in value of any vehicle out there,” he said.
