TRACY – The Nissan Leaf represents the wave of the future.
This 100-percent all-electric car with zero emissions has a built-in charging system that plugs into any household outlet.
On the road, Leaf owners could get re-charged at a Smart EV Charging Station. EV-Charge America is currently installing several such stations throughout the country.
The Leaf is a front-wheel drive, five-passenger vehicle with five doors including the hatchback, with the size of this vehicle slightly larger than that of a Nissan Versa.
The electric motor produces 107 horsepower, 207 pound-foot of torque and gets its juice from the 192 lithium-ion battery cells.
According to Nissan, the Leaf is capable of going close to 100 miles on a full charge based on tests. The top speed is nearly 90 mph.
The car has single-speed direct drive transmission while the inside is roomy with plenty of headroom.
The LED headlights were designed to direct wind around the door mirrors in order to make for less drag.
The 2011 Nissan Leaf is available for test drive at the Tracy dealership located at 3195 N. Naglee Road.
