TRACY – Just because you’ve got to spend your mornings behind the wheel of a car doesn’t mean it’s a process you shouldn’t enjoy.

And there’s no better way to enjoy it than by saving money while you do it.

Thanks to its fuel-efficiency (nearly 40 miles per gallon) and its extremely low price tag (new models start at just over $10,600) the 1.6-liter Nissan Versa – offered for the first time this year – now allows drivers looking for the reliability of a longtime road staple like Nissan to be able to park one in their driveway without paying through the nose.

According to Tracy Nissan sales consultant Tom King, the 1.6-liter Versa has become quite popular with first-time buyers and commuters who know they’re going to be able to rely on the car.

“Here in Tracy with our proximity to the Bay Area we’re really a commuting community,” King said. “That’s a big part of our community, and it’s those drivers that have taken an interest in models like the Versa 1.6 because dollar-for-dollar it’s hard to find anything that can compare to it.”

As a scaled-down model the already popular Versa, the 1.6-liter model offers the same smooth-driving and easy maneuvering that made its cousin one of the better selling vehicles in the Nissan line.

Knocking a couple of thousand dollars off of the price tag doesn’t hurt matters much either.

The refined price tag helped make the Versa 1.6 the lowest-priced new car in America, and helped attract the attention of a wide range of buyers looking to both save money and have a vehicle and a brand that they know they can rely on.

“Nothing is going to touch this car when it comes to the price point,” King said. “And when you factor in the gas mileage and the longevity – the ease of handling – there really isn’t anything else out there that’s going to come close.”

Tracy Nissan currently has an ample supply of the Versa 1.6 for buyers to choose from, in addition to the entire Nissan line – from the fuel-efficient and comfortable Altima Hybrid to the heart-stopping GT-R that boasts a twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter V6 that puts out an amazing 473 horsepower and goes from 0-60 in a clock-shattering 3.3 seconds.
