Calvary Community Church will be celebrating its 50th anniversary this Sunday, Oct. 24.

The community is invited to celebrate at one of two morning worship services at 9 or 10:30 a.m.

Immediately following the 10:30 a.m. service they will be barbecuing hamburgers, links, and hot dogs and serving a complete meal on the patio for all in attendance.  The service will include recognition of long time members who made Calvary possible. They will also be celebrating the opening of the new youth building, remodeled classrooms and the imminent construction of a new café, kitchen, and barbecue and sitting area.  There will be walk-through tours of the new facilities, remodeled areas and future plans as well.

The history will be displayed on large billboards by decades highlighting significant events in the 50 year history of God’s blessing the congregation.

Kids will enjoy supervised bounce houses, teens and adults can play volleyball, Frisbee and other outdoor activities on the front lawn.

If you are at all thinking about re-connecting to God, church or just want to celebrate with the congregation Pastor Jim Todd indicated this is a great time to come.  Contact the office at 239 1345 or go to for more information.

The church is located at 815 W. Lathrop Road between Main St. and Union Rd.
