CALVARY TEMPLE: Former Ripon High School activities’ director Doug Hall is urging his religious community and others near his home in Manteca to join him in hearing the author of “23 Minutes in Hell” Saturday and Sunday February 26-27.

Writer Bill Wiese – a New York Times bestselling author – is scheduled to share his “bone chilling” experience, Hall said.

Calvary Worship Center in Modesto will be hosting Wiess and his wife with his real life presentation set for all three services, Saturday at 6, Sunday at 9 and 11.

“Having already listened to his presentation, I cannot urge too strongly those who doubt the existence of this place to listen for themselves,” the retired educator said.

Hall said he came away convinced that a person wouldn’t want their worst enemy to experience such an environment.  He added that the author makes it very clear what has to be done to avoid ever experiencing what he described as a never ending nightmare.

Calvary Temple is located at the corner of Coffee and Briggsmore avenues across from Memorial Hospital.

PRAYER FOR OUR ELDERLY: On Tuesday, Feb. 22, from 7 to 8 p.m. at Bethany Home in the Manor dining room, 999 West 2nd St. a call is going out to Ripon residents to pray for our elderly and those who care for them for one hour.

“Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.” Hebrews 4:16

The Vision: This is a non-denominational, city-wide prayer initiative, meant to call all citizens together for a common goal of raising up the City of Ripon before God. We desire to grow so that as a group of believers here in Ripon we can pray continually for the many needs of our community and rejoice and give thanks together for the answers God gives.

PRESBYTERIAN: All are welcome this Sunday at Manteca Presbyterian Church for the 10 a.m. worship service, even Will and Penny. Anne Talcott will lead our Praise Team in our opening song. Come hear Pastor Wendy Warner’s sermon titled, “We Have a Springboard!” Don’t worry, she won’t be diving this morning. Our service is followed by a time of refreshments. Come join the fun! The church is located at 275 North Main Street. For further information phone us at 239-3159.

CALVARY COMMUNITY: This Sunday at Calvary the message “For God’s Eyes Only” features verses from Matthew 6:1-18 which focuses on the biblical aspects of praying, giving, and fasting.
