I use to believe that the key scriptures in the Bible, the ones really needed for success in a believer’s every-day life, were the ones having to do with peace. Considering what you hear on the news, read in the papers and deal with on a daily basis, I figured any scripture dealing with peace had to be the key to a good Christian walk.
Over the years, I’ve learned that while scriptures on peace certainly do help us in dealing with some of life’s problems, there is one teeny, tiny scripture that I now believe is the real key when it comes to having true success in the Christian walk of faith, This particular scripture, in my opinion is without question the most important, life altering, mother of all scriptures that you’ll ever come across. Really! No joke.
Are you ready for me to tell you what it is? I mean are you really, really ready? The reason I ask is because this one little scripture has such power, such anointing that once you hear it, you will have no choice but to be accountable to apply it. And once you apply it, it will take you to a whole new level in understanding the promises of God.
So let me ask again. Are you ready for me to tell you the key scripture?
Well, if you haven’t stopped reading then I assume you are. I believe the real key scripture, the main Christian principle that God wants each and every one of us to fully understand is one little bitty word you’ll find tucked away at the end of Ephesians 6:13—“Stand.”
Yep, that’s it. “Stand.” There are a million billion fascinating scriptures in the Bible that speaks of God and the promises He has for us but no matter how wonderful they all are, they can only go so far if we don’t learn how to stand.
When we read Ephesians 6:13 in its entirety we understand what we must do initially but it’s that final little word “stand” that’s the real key to it all. “Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground and after you have done everything. . . stand.”
To stand in this sense, means to hold one’s ground; maintain a position or to be steadfast. When we read God’s word, when we hear His promises, when we claim them for ourselves, unless we hold our ground and maintain our position of standing firm in faith, we will never quiet have the full victory we so desire in our Christian walk. Certainly we will have some victory but not to the extent where we can really see God moving in our lives.
If you really desire to grow in your relationship with God and have a better understanding of how He works in your life then you must learn to “Stand.” Stand on the truth, stand in faith, stand and believe. For when we stand we experience a greater peace, joy, revelation and victory. More importantly, when we stand, we experience God.
