MODESTO — Baseball fans rejoice, the Modesto Nuts are almost back in town.
In less than two weeks, on April 11, the Modesto’s professional baseball team will storm John Thurman Field to the delight of many in their home opener against the Lancaster JetHawks—the defending California League champions.
Opening night – which is projected to be the biggest night of the year with 4,000 in attendance – will also include live entertainment, face painting, and a fireworks show, among other promotions. Fireworks will also be on display the following two days, ending on April 13 during the annual Fan Fest that is set to run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Fan Fest 2013 will also include live entertainment as well as balloon artists and dunk tanks. Those in attendance will get the opportunity to meet the Nuts players and staff while also getting a chance to try their hands at business. Fans from kindergarten to high school can sign up for Lemonade Day and get a free lemonade stand to decorate to their liking as part of a program aimed to promote basic business principles and entrepreneurship.
And the best part about Fan Fest is it’s all free.
