STOCKTON – Halloween in Stockton has something for folks of all ages.
Many events are free but some such as the Fall Festival hosted by the San Joaquin Regional Transit District will charge a modest fee. But a portion of the proceeds here will benefit the United Way of San Joaquin County.
For grownups, Chitiva’s Salsa and Sports Bar & Grill is putting on “3 Nights = Awesome Halloween” event from Oct. 30 through Nov. 1.
Here are some of the Halloween happenings in this part of the 209:
SJRTD Fall Festival
The third annual Fall Festival will be held at the RTD Transit Center in downtown Stockton at 421 E. Weber Ave.
Where else can you find a haunted bus?
This community event is scheduled from 3 to 6 p.m. and will feature something fun for the entire family, from carnival games and face painting to a photo booth and a scarecrow corner.
Micke Grove Zoo will be on hand to provide unique animals while folks from the Stockton-San Joaquin County Public Library will lead in story time.
The Stockton police and fire departments will have their vehicles on display.
Admission is free for children 12 and under, and $2 per teen and adult.
The first 500 youngsters to visit the five community tables at the event will receive free reusable trick-or-treat tote bags filled with goodies and other surprises.

Trick or Treat Street
The City Church at 1282 E. Bianchi Rd. will provide a safe haven for trick or treaters on this family fun night.
Admission is free. From 5 to 8 o’clock, youngsters can wear their costumes and enjoy the free rides, petting zoo, games, booths, food and candy.

LOV’in Family Fest
The Lighthouse of the Valley Church at 4368 N. Sutter St. is hosting a free family safe night from 6 to 9 o’clock.
Included will be free rides, free games and free food for those in attendance.

The Rocky Horror Show
The cult classic rock musical brought to life will have two performances on Halloween evening.
That’s Showbiz Theatre Company at 1744 Pacific Ave. will do the first of two performances at 7:30 p.m.
An encore performance is scheduled for 10 o’clock.
Cost is $17 for adult, $12.50 for seniors (age 65 and older), and $10 for children / students.

Chitiva’s Party
The “3 Nights = One Awesome Halloween” will feature a costume party, live music, drink specials and more.
But the real competition will take place in the costume contest, where the first-place finisher will receive $100. The second place finisher will come away with $50 while the third place person will get two free drinks from the bar.
