Trustees of the Manteca Unified School District are expected to sign off on the multi-purpose facility projects at Shasta School and Neil Hafley School at tonight’s meeting.
Acknowledging the final completion contracts at both sites will take place during the 7 o’clock open session.
Architect Rick Saksteder of HMC Architects along with project superintendent Eric Stieb and Tim Gatchett of F&H Construction handled both projects.
At Neil Hafley, the facility there came at a price tag of about $5.19 million made possible by the voter-approved Measure M money, City of Manteca Redevelopment, state funding, and developer fees.
The same funding sources also made possible Shasta’s 12,781-square-foot building / gymnasium.
Construction on the $5.11 million project began in December 2007. Prior to that, some neighbors objected to the project, in particular, the location into nearby Shasta Park along with the possibility of added traffic in the area.
In addition, the board is looking for times and dates to formally dedicate the two brand-new facilities.
