Two Sacramento men have been arrested in connection with the murder of Timothy Spino, 29, of Manteca in his Jessie Street home nearly two weeks ago.

Ryan Matlock, 19, and Kenneth Wayne Gatison, Jr., 23, were apprehended in a traffic stop near the Consumnes River College in Sacramento on Monday and taken into custody without incident, according to Manteca Police Lt. Tony Souza.

Manteca Detective Stephen Schluer had requested the services of the U.S. Marshals’ Fugitive Apprehension Team to help find the two suspects believed to have been involved in the in- home killing.

They were both transported from the Manteca jail to the San Joaquin County Jail in French Camp.  They are being held without bail, according to the Sheriff’s website. Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact Detective Stephen Schluer at 209.456.8110.

Both men are scheduled to appear in the San Joaquin County Superior Court at 1:30 p.m. in the Stockton Courthouse on Thursday.

It was on Oct. 16 that Manteca officers responded to the 200 block of Jessie Avenue to a shooting at that address at 9:41 p.m. when three black men broke into Spino’s front door.   Patrol officers and gang detectives arrived on the scene to find the 29-year-old Spino suffering from a single gunshot wound to his torso.  He reportedly died shortly after being transported to San Joaquin County Hospital in French Camp.

The responsibles had fled by the time officers arrived.
