A 22-year-old Manteca woman was dragged by her boyfriend’s car in the 100 block of El Portal Avenue, just south of Yosemite Avenue, shortly before 1:30 a.m. Friday resulting in a broken leg and other injuries, according to Manteca Police Sgt. Jodie Estarziau.
Officers arrived on the scene to find the victim and one of her female friends, who had also been involved in the altercation with Allen Edward Mena, who allegedly sped out of the area with both women hanging onto his vehicle.  Estarziau said the friend let go of the vehicle as it left the area and was uninjured.
The 22-year-old finally dropped off the vehicle and was run over after falling to the roadway.
Mena and the vehicle were located by officers a short distance from the scene. The driver was taken into custody without further incident.  Mena was booked into the San Joaquin County Jail on charges of felony DUI causing injury and felony hit and run.  He is being held in lieu of $1 million bail with a court date today at 1:30 p.m.
