If you’re “green” enough to use a 30-gallon Toter and live in Manteca you’ll have the lowest garbage rates in San Joaquin County.
The $19.78 a month Manteca charges is $4.94 less than Lathrop at $23.72.
Ripon is the bigger bargain, though, when it comes to 90-gallon Toters as they charge $23 per month for curbside collection with a $2 extra charge for green yard waste. That compares to Manteca at $30.03 a month for garbage, recycling and green waste and Lathrop at $29.77. Escalon beats everyone at $18.55 a month. Escalon also leads the way with 60-gallon Toters at 15.50 followed by Manteca at $25.49 and Lathrop at $25.81. Ripon does not have other service besides the 60-gallon Toters.
All of the rates in Tracy, Stockton, and Lodi are anywhere from $2 to $44 a month higher than Manteca’s charges. Leading the way is Lodi with a $74.85 charge for a 90-gallon Toter that is almost 2.5 times more than Manteca.
The cities that are lower than Manteca do not bury their garbage in landfills. Instead it is trucked to incinerators to generate electricity.
