A fire Friday night caused $500,000 in losses to a truck repair and storage facility at 1985 West Yosemite Avenue just west of the shuttered Leo’s Bar and Fishback Road.

Four engine companies from Manteca City Fire and Lathrop Manteca Fire as well as the city’s ladder truck responded to the fire reported at 11:41 p.m. at CTP Transport.

There was heavy smoke and fire coming from the building when the first engine arrived. Due to the heavy fire load in the building – there were seven trucks and equipment – and the large size of the fire the 23 firefighters had to use several large diameter hand lines and master stream from the 100-foot aerial truck to bring the fire under control.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The  fire closed West Yosemite Avenue for several hours.
