Cash Galvez, 5, and his mother Karah were among 75 people praying for the health and safety of America and the restoration of broken families – praying the Rosary with thousands of others across the country at high noon on Saturday.
Cash had a special request in his prayers – to get “better grades” in school.
The nationwide “Public Square Rosary Crusade” was held in the Bedquarters parking lot at the northwest corner of Main Street and Yosemite Avenue.
The group was praying the Rosary as a way to seek relief from “the sins of the United States” including abortion, homosexuality, impure fashions and immoral laws.
They recited the five Glorious Mysteries only three days after the Queen of the Rosary feast day.
“Secularism attempts to remove God from society – but without God where will our leaders get the wisdom to solve the great problems we face?” the group asked.
“We must counter today’s immoral and secularist trends with our public prayers. We must ask God through the rosary of his most holy mother to save America,” they added.
The Rosary was said in several languages, Indian, Vietnamese, Portuguese, English and Hispanic.
Three organizations were there including Our Lady of All Nations, Our Lady of Queen of Peace and Our Lady of the Rosary.
Rosemary Cortez said there was no harassment from motorists driving by on Saturday; rather they received brief horns along with “thumbs up” from the drivers.
