RIPON – Pool days are always popular at the Heida garden on Aster Court, one of five stunning gardens featured in the September Stroll garden tour sponsored by the Ripon Garden Club. The event is being held today from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

A rock pool which comes complete with a slide, a diving board and spa are the irresistible attractions in this fenced-in area of the Heidas’ back-yard garden for the young ones as well as the young at heart. The pool garden is completely enclosed with a security fence to protect the young ones.

Next to the pool is a spacious dining area that is large enough to accommodate a crowd for any al fresco gathering or a barbecue.

The back-yard garden next to the pool boasts colorful and lush plants around a spacious lawn area, all guarded by a huge ceramic white buffalo. Next to it is a flag pole with Old Glory waving several feet up in the air. The ceramic buffalo is a symbolic garden element for the Heidas who used to own a ranch in Escalon where they raised buffaloes.

The main attraction in front of the house is a raised patio encircled by an elegant wrought iron rail where the family can sit and relax while admiring the garden in the front yard.
