Adult School kicks off grad 2014 season

Manteca Adult School, as in previous years, is kicking off the graduation and promotion exercises for high school and elementary schools in the Manteca Unified School District. It is also the only commencement program that is being held in the morning.

Graduates of 2013-2014 will receive their diplomas during ceremonies starting at 10 a.m. in the Manteca Unified administration building, 2271 W. Louise Avenue, corner Airport Way. The setting for this graduation ceremony will have the graduates sitting around tables with members of their families and close friends.

Calla High in Manteca and New Vision High School located in Weston Ranch will be the next campuses holding graduation exercises. Both schools will have hold graduation ceremonies on Friday, May 23, starting at 7 p.m. Calla High graduates will be marching to receive their diplomas at Crossroads Community Church on Moffat Boulevard. New Vision graduating students will have their commencement program in the New Vision Gym. The school is located at 4726 McCuen Ave in Weston Ranch which is part of the incorporated city of Stockton.

Two high schools in Manteca will have their graduation ceremonies on Thursday, May 29, both starting at 7 p.m. – Sierra High and Lathrop High – with the programs to be held in their respective stadiums.

Concluding the graduation season for Manteca Unified will be the remaining three high schools which will have their graduation exercises on Friday, May 30, all starting at 7 p.m. East Union’s ceremonies will be held in the school’s Dino Cunial Stadium. The Guss Schmiedt Field of Manteca High will be the setting for the Buffaloes’ graduation celebration. The stadium of Weston Ranch High School in French Camp will be the venue for their seniors’ graduation.

Promotion ceremonies for eighth graders in Manteca Unified’s 20 elementary schools will be held on May 27 and 28 – with 10 scheduled for Tuesday, May 27, and the remaining half set for Wednesday, May 28.
