It’s a family event complete with a rib and tri-tip feed, barn dance, and auctions with big-ticket items galore.

While you’re having fun with the entire family, you can also celebrate with the thought that you are contributing to a worthy cause.

That’s the first annual Family Rib/Tri-tip Feed and Barn Dance fund-raising event for St. Anthony’s School sponsored by the Parent-Teacher Group.

The all-you-can-eat ribs and tri-tip feed extravaganza will be held Saturday, May 15, inside the school gym at the corner of North Fremont Avenue and Sutter Street. It will begin at 5:30 p.m. with no-host cocktails, followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m. and auctions and dancing until 10 p.m. Included in the menu will be baked potato, salad and rolls. Wine will be served along with the dinner as well. Tickets are $30 each for adults, $15 for children age 4 to 12, and free to children under age 4. Tickets can be purchased at the school office during regular business hours.

The highlight of the evening will be the silent and live auctions. The event organizers have put together a vast array of big-ticket items that include a pair of lovable black Labrador puppies, a Jerry Rice-autographed football with an authentic provenance, another football autographed by the entire 2010-2011 Oakland Raiders team, a Raiders fan package that includes two tickets to a Raiders game of your choice plus a football autographed by former Raider player Kenny Shedd, a wine-tasting party, and four one-hour skateboarding lessons this summer from skate boarder and Guinness World Record holder Zach Kovacs.

The puppies named “Cupcake” and “Rosie” are both AKC registered. They were born on Valentine’s Day in Antioch, Calif. They have been wormed and have already received their second set of puppy shots. Each puppy even comes with a custom-built puppy house plus 20 pounds of dog food.

The signatures for the autographed Oakland Raiders team football were collected during spring training day.

The Skate Boarder’s Dream package comes with an autographed copy of The Guinness Book of World Records plus a signed photograph of Zach Kovacs, a student at Central Catholic student in Modesto who has competed in the World X games.

The Wine Tasting Party auction item consists of a private party at Gnekow Family Winery in Collegeville. The winery boasts an aura of rustic ambiance and Old World charm. This package is for up to 50 people and includes hors d’oeuvres.

Tickets are available in the School Office. For more information about the event and the other auction items, call Elizabeth Leja at 823-2399 or the school office at 823-4513.
