TRACY — The Nissan Murano Cross Cabriolet is eye candy and much more.

“It’s a two-door convertible that’s now a crossover convertible,” said Francisco Mendoza of the Tracy dealership at 3195 N. Naglee Road.

Stylish yet sporty, the 2011 model is the first-ever all-wheel drive crossover convertible for all-season and all-weather conditions, making it an ideal ride for that scenic drive along the coast or along the streets of ritzy Rodeo Drive.

The Cross Cabriolet is available in distinct exterior colors: Super Black, Glacier Pearl, Merlot, Sunset Bronze, Platinum Graphite and Caribbean.

The interior colors come in a choice of cashmere, camel, and black while the soft top is available in beige or black.

The rest of the features in this Nissan are part of the package.

Included is a refined and efficient 3.5-liter, 260-hp V-6 engine; spacious interior with the rear-seat leg room; an advanced airbag system and vehicle dynamic control; one-touch button to glide off the top; double-stitched leather-appointed seats and wood-tone interior trim; Nissan Navigation System with XM NavTraffic updates, XM NavWeather alerts, and Zagat Survey restaurant guide; Bose audio system and auto-adjusting amplifier; Bluetooth hands-free phone system; and Intelligent Key with push button ignition.

The Cross Cabriolet is currently featured in the Tracy Nissan showroom led by Jerome “Tex” Carl.

He’s been the sales manager there for the past nine years.

Carl, who is a 1996 graduate of Ripon High, got his start at Country Nissan formerly Manteca Datsun in 1999.

Country Nissan later became Kia Country, which is under the same ownership as that of Tracy Nissan.

Kia Motors, an upstart Korean auto company, wanted to stake their claim in the area. They found a way to do so by establishing Kia in Manteca and moving Nissan to Tracy.

Kia Country is located at 1515 N. Main St.

What’s new there is the fuel-efficient Optima hybrid. Kia is estimating that this 2011 sedan will be good for 36 mpg in the city and 40 on the highway.
