Youthful virtuoso and classical music “Double Threat” Anita Chen will perform works for solo Violin and solo Piano at the historic Turlock Community Theatre on Tuesday, April 17, at 7:30 p.m.

Single tickets for this event are $25, $15/students.  For tickets or further information, please visit www.turlockconcert.org or call Linda Posegate at 209-668-1456 or Sue Bonander at 209-668-3627.

Born in 1991, Anita Chen has already begun to make her mark as a solo instrumentalist.  At age seven she was accepted into Juilliard pre-college program and launched her professional career in 2002 performing eight concerts with the St. Luke’s Chamber Orchestra in the Isaac Stern Auditorium at Carnegie Hall.  She made her recording debut in 2006 with the Russian Philharmonic Orchestra (Bel Air Music).

Chen has continued to concertize in North America and internationally to glowing reviews by the New York Times, The Strad, and the Record-Review.  Chen’s program includes diverse violin works by Brahms, Beethoven, and Kreisler, among others; her piano performance highlights Liszt in his most theatrical mood in compositions based on Mozart’s “Marriage of Figaro,” Verdi’s “Rigoletto” and Gounod’s “Faust.”

The Turlock Community Concert Association has been presenting nationally acclaimed artists to the community since 1940.  The all-volunteer non-profit board is committed to enriching the cultural life of the community through live performances.
