Manteca’s Therapy Dog Club — Paws4Friends — is well known for the work they do having a handler and dog visit places such as Manteca Care, The Commons, Emeritus and Prestige, Doctors Hospital of Manteca, the Manteca Library, French Camp School, Agape Foster Agency, as well as Haven of Peace and Raymus House.

They are having a meeting presenting information on the national group we are registered with, Therapy Dogs Inc. in hopes of including more dog owners in this worthwhile venture.

Paws4Friends is hosting the informational meeting on Therapy Dogs Inc. which registers dogs to become therapy dogs (they are not service dogs) on Tuesday, April 21, from 6 to 8 p.m. in Manteca.

Therapy dogs are personal pets that will be able to visit care facilities, hospitals, schools, women’s shelters and retirement facilities. They are not support dogs and cannot go everywhere with you.

If you are interested in hearing more about the organization, make a reservation at paws4friends@verizon.net by April 10.
