A recent photo in Around Town showed how a spot on Moffat Boulevard near where the Moffat Community Center/Veterans of Foreign Wars Post work started this week was a popular dumping ground for pilfered shopping carts. There were eight in the photo.

That prompted reader Mike Hamiel of Manteca to send a photo he snapped that day of shopping carts in Tracy.

He sent it with the note, “I found the rest of the missing shopping carts on Arbor Avenue in Tracy.”

There were no less than two dozen shopping carts in the photo.

Arbor Avenue is away from developed areas near the Tracy wastewater treatment plant and the shuttered Holly Sugar refinery north of Interstate 205.

Gee, could the homeless have dumped them there?
