Modesto’s newest millionaire intends to keep shopping at the Dollar Store.

Elfred Meitzenheimer matched five of six number’s in last week’s $425 million Powerball draw to win $1,444,906.

The 63-year-old retired Gallo Class Co. worker said he plays the same numbers all of the time. They are a combination of his siblings’ birthdates, along with former and current addresses. That ticket matched the winning numbers 17, 49, 54, 35 and 1 – missing only the Powerball number of 34.

He bought the ticket at the Stop Save Liquor Store on Coffee Road in Modesto. The store will receive a $7,224.53 retailer bonus for selling the wining ticket.

Meitzenheimer said his top priority is taking care of his mother and then he may splurge on buying an Audi.

Other than that, he told lottery officials it means, “Just a little more money to spend at the Dollar Store. That’s all it is.”
