Noise complaints about Crothall Laundry operation

More than a few Del Webb at Woodbridge residents are hoping for a neighbor to go about doing their laundry a bit quieter.

They’ve made complaints to Manteca elected leaders about noise coming from the new Crothall Healthcare on Airport Way that’s just west of the western entrance to the Del Webb neighborhood.

Manteca City Manager Karen McLaughlin indicated that any activity on a previously vacant parcel would produce more noise than there was before. That said the city has made several decibel readings and found nothing that violated city standards.

Even so, the city’s code enforcement officer is being dispatched in the coming weeks to take even more readings to see if noise violations can be detected.

There are 115 employees working in the 60,150-square-foot facility that currently serves 22 hospital accounts. They are handling the equivalent of 21 million pounds of laundry annually with the capacity for 55 million pounds.
