Arrest made after body found in tote box

A body was discovered in a plastic tote box in the 2800 block of French Camp Road — midway between Union Road and the Park View Cemetery.
A homeowner at about 7:30 p.m. Monday went into a metal shop building behind his home and came across the tote box. The owner the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s deputies.
Deputies worked the scene throughout the night piecing together evidence that led up to the murder and arrested 34-year-old Eric Allen Wright in a Weston Ranch shopping center. They named Wright as their chief suspect.
Wright was transported to San Joaquin County Jail in French Camp where he is being held without bail.  Identification of the body is pending an autopsy, toxicology results and notification of the family.
He is scheduled to appear in the Manteca Branch of the San Joaquin County Superior Court at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday.
