Art shows are planned for Tuesday at East Union and Lathrop High.

Students at the Manteca Unified sites will have a chance to display their work from the various art forms, from sketches to water paintings, to ceramics, sculptures, photography, and video.

At East Union, the visual art show will take place in the library. From 6 to 6:30 p.m., drama students are scheduled to perform scenes from plays in the theater. They’ll be followed by Jazz ensemble members, who will play from 6:30 to 7 o’clock in the band room.

The East Union choir is scheduled to close out the event by singing several musical numbers in the band room.

Meanwhile, Lathrop High will be presenting “Evening of the Arts” from 5:30 to 7:30.

Art viewing will take place in the school café and lobby, with the drama (5:55 to 6:10) and choir (6:15 to 6:30) performing in the theater and the band (6:45 to 7 o’clock) playing in the cafeteria.

Refreshments will be served at East Union and Lathrop High.

Some of the top art pieces selected from the two shows – along with works of students from Manteca High, Sierra, Weston Ranch, and Calla – will be featured in the MUSD art show on May 4.

The fifth annual district-wide event will take place in the administration building, 2271 W. Louise Ave., Manteca, from 4 to 7 p.m.
