Banana Republic is joining Van’s and Guess as part of the outlet mall being developed at The Promenade Shops at Orchard Valley at the 120 Bypass and Union Road.

Manteca is processing a tenant improvement for Banana Republic as well as Big Lots.

Big Lots will be locating in the former Manteca Marketplace Cinema 10 complex that closed at the start of May. Demolition work has already started on the former movie house at West Yosemite Avenue and Union Road.

Meanwhile crews are starting interior improvements for the Burlington Coat Factory that will open this fall in the former Mervyn’s building on South Main Street. Work is also underway on the interior of the Dollar General location that will open this year in the former Walgreen’s space on the northeast corner of North Main Street and Alameda Street.

Construction also will begin shortly on the two new McDonald’s restaurants - one at Airport Way and Daniels Street and the other at East Yosemite Avenue and Commerce Avenue.

Craig Realty - a developer and manager of premium outlet stores throughout the West - is working with Orchard Valley developers to fill in the space at the shopping complex with “upscale” outlet stores. Craig Realty reportedly has other retailers lined up as well.
