Pet-friendly businesses and organizations are invited to register for the 4th annual Bark-toberfest event.

Victoria Watson, former Miss Manteca 2011 and the event founder, is once again organizing this fun, furry one-of-a-kind event which attracts hundreds of people and dogs each year.

Bark-toberfest is a free one-day pet fair and doggie costume contest for  area residents and their pets. Since its inception in 2009, Bark-toberfest has earned nearly $4,000 for the Manteca Police Canine Association, a non-profit organization which provides financial support for training, equipment and other expenses that now fall to the officers serving in our local police K9 unit.

This year’s event is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 13, at Library Park in downtown Manteca. Costume parade, canine carnival, special contests and a live demo by the Manteca Police K9 Unit are just a few of the four-legged fun to be had. Any business or organization can register for 10x10 booth space at the event. The cost for vendor space is $25 in advance or $40 after Oct. 5. Non-profit organizations may have free booth space to promote their mission at no charge.
